Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Nirmal, Nizamabad, and other districts of Telangana on Friday night and Saturday, the Met Centre here said. In its forecast for the next five days, the Met Centre said heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur in several districts, while heavy showers are likely at isolated places in many districts during July 10-12.

As heavy rains continue to disrupt normal life in coastal areas and the Malnad region of Karnataka, flood warnings have been sounded in some northern districts due to heavy downpours in neighbouring Maharashtra.
Even as Mumbaikars got some respite from the downpour on Friday morning, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the city and its suburbs warning that very heavy to extremely heavyrainfallis likely at isolated places during the day, the civic officials said.
Rajasthan recorded 26 per cent more-than-normal rainfall at the start of the monsoon season asrainslashed several parts of the state with isolated places witnessing heavy showers since Thursday, officials said.
Against a normal rainfall of 102.56 mm between June 1 and July 8, the state recorded 129.83 mm ofrains, the water resources department said.

Heavy rain continued to batter most parts of Karnataka on Friday. A red alert was issued for seven districts and people were facing the threat of landslides and floods.
The rains have receded in Hassan district on Friday, but the water level in rivers Kaveri and Hemavathy has increased.
Agricultural lands near the banks of River Kaveri have been flooded at some villages in Arkalgud taluk. There are more than 40 villages on the banks of Kaveri in Ramanathapura and Konanur hoblis and the residents have been alerted to move to safer places.

The national capital is likely to witness a generally cloudy sky with light rain on Friday and the maximum temperature is expected to settle at 40 degrees Celsius, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The minimum temperature at the Safdarjung Observatory, Delhi's primary weather station, was recorded three notches above normal at 29.2 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity at 8:30 am was 69 per cent.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued a red alert warning of extremely heavy rainfall in Goa over the next 24 hours and very heavy showers till July 10.
In light of the weather warning, the state government has announced to shut schools for students up to Class 8 for the next two days, an official said.
TheIMDhas forecast extremely heavy rainfall over Goa on Friday and very heavy rainfall on July 9 to 10, it was stated.
