Mumbai: India’s space odyssey is society-centric, former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chief Dr Koppillil Radhakrishnan said.
“Space technology has touched every Indian's life including the farmers and the fishermen with significant societal-economic impact,” Dr Radhakrishnan said at the annual Vijayadashami celebrations of RSS in Nagpur presided over by RSS chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat.
Former ISRO Director K Sivan was also present among the dignitaries who attended this year’s celebrations.
“Our space odyssey has been society-centric. We have taken up tough goals and tough schedules, used our ingenuity and developed resilience. These have helped us to imbibe self belief and develop team excellence,” said Dr Radhakrishnan.
Dwelling on India’s self-reliance mission, he said: “Technology and scientific innovation are drivers of economic transformation and India has made remarkable progress in this. We need to work for self-reliance and new age technology to ensure technology security.”
