Isro on Wednesday began the 29-hour countdown for the launch of India’s indigenous GSLV-F05/INSAT-3DR advanced weather satellite. “The countdown operation of GSLV-F05/INSAT-3DR mission has started at 11:10 am today,” a senior Isro official told DH here on Wednesday.

Stating that preparations for the propellant filling operation at various stages of the rocket were under progress, he said the rocket’s health parameters were normal.

“At present, preparations for second stage filling are under progress,” the official said. The INSAT-3DR mission is scheduled to be launched on September 8 at 4.10 pm from the second launch pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR (SDSC SHAR) at Sriharikota, about 100 km north of Chennai.
