Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday attached a residential house in old city Zaldagar area of Srinagar in connection with the killing of two non-local workers in February this year.

Reports said the NIA team accompanied by Jammu and Kashmir police attached a two storey house, built on (2720 sq feet) of land at Zaldagar. The house belongs to Adil Manzoor Langoo, who is currently in detention.

Langoo is an accused in FIR No. 08/2024, registered by Police Station Shaheed Gunj, which was later handed over to NIA for further investigation. This case pertains to the killing of two non-locals from Punjab - Amritpal Singh and Rohit Masih - on February 7, 2024, at Shalla Kadal, Habbakadal, here.

Singh and Masih came from poor families in Punjab’s Amritsar and were working as carpenters in Kashmir to support them.

The militants have regularly targeted the non-local workers in the Valley since the abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status in 2019.
