"At present the state is going through a very sensitive phase as the perpetrators of violence do not want peace and prosperity to prevail here and that is the reason why they are continuously disrupting our work," he told party workers here last night.
Seeking to allay fears from the minds of people, he said his government was fully prepared to tackle any situation, fight evil designs of enemies and achieve the goal of a prosperous and peaceful Kashmir.
Abdullah said such inhuman elements can never feel the pain and agony of poor Kashmiris whom they use for their vested interests. Due to their mischievous and malafide activities innocent people are killed, he added.
Asserting that the development works would continue with accelerated pace despite difficult situation in some parts of the Valley, Abdullah asked the people to be part of peace and development process.
He said the enemies of peace not only want to destroy the tourism season and divide the three regions in the state on communal and regional lines.
Abdullah said that the tradition of 'Awami Mulakats' (public contact programme) would be revived to reach out to the masses, assess their problems and redress their grievances on the spot.
Referring to Shri Amarnath Yatra, the Chief Minister said that the yatra is going on peacefully and every step has been taken to ensure smooth and safe yatra.
