As many as 16 couples entered into wedlock in a mass wedding organised under a mass marriage scheme, Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana, in Mysuru.

The programme was held at Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hill in Mysuru on Monday.

The Karnataka government has decided to conduct mass marriages between March and July.

Today's event was the first of its kind in the district this year.
