Former chief minister Jagadish Shettar said on Sunday that more than one lakh farmers from across the state, under the aegis of BJP's Raitha Morcha, would picket the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi on December 10, the first day of the winter session of the legislature, against the 'anti-farmer policy' of the government.
The rally will be led by BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa, he said.
Speaking with reporters here, he said the party would corner the government on its failure to provide loan waiver to farmers.

Shettar said his party would also highlight the failure of the government in providing relief to sugarcane farmers.
The former chief minister said the BJP would also raise the issue of discrimination towards North Karnataka.
He said the government had released only Rs 40 crore for various development works in Hubballi-Dharwad, even though works worth more than Rs 300 crore were being taken up. This has resulted in contractors stopping these works.
“For this coalition government, Karnataka consists of only three districts: Hassan, Mandya and Ramanagara,” he said.
