He was speaking to media persons after holding a meeting with the newly constituted Hazrath Tipu Sultan Wakf Estate Development Committee in the town recently.
Dr Khan informed that a book will be released shortly on the life history of Hazrath Tipu for which ` 10 lakh has been sanctioned from the Government.
Discussions
The Minister said that discussions were held about the preparation for ensuing Sandal urus on November 6 at Srirangapatna.
More than 10,000 people are expected to participate at the 218th Martyrs Day of Tipu Sultan.
Dr Khan said that the committee was constituted recently and despite the lack of time for completing preparations it was striving to make the event a historic one.
` 5 lakh sanctioned
The Minister said that ` five lakh has been sanctioned to celebrate the annual Urs.
Dr Khan said that the newly constituted committee will mainly concentrate on the development of property of Harath Tipu wakf estate and preserve the property with the co-operation of Archeological survey of India, he added.
Shopping complex
He said that a shopping complex will be constructed opposite to the tomb of Tipu Sultan. ` 50 lakh loan will be sanctioned for construction of the building, he added.
Later, the Minister visited tomb of Hazrath Tipu at Gumbad-e-Shahi, Srirangapatna.
