An all-party delegation led by Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda will leave for Delhi in the third week of April to press for the release of Rs 2,200 crore for drought-relief works.
A letter in this regard has already been sent to the Union government, said Municipal
Administration Minister S Suresh Kumar. He was speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday.
Suresh Kumar, along with ministers B N Bachegowda, Ravindranath and R Ashoka, is in the district to tour the drought-hit areas.
The government will decide on suggestions to provide employment in the drought-hit areas, once it completes the review, he added.
An additional 23 taluks have been declared drought-hit by the State government, taking the total number taluks affectd by drought to 146.
To a query, Suresh Kumar said he has no information about the report submitted by the Central team that visited the district last December.
