Mysuru: 'Sri Siddaramaiah Swabhimani Samavesha' has been organised, in Hassan on December 5, by AHINDA organisations, to protect the Constitution and self-respect, said K S Shivaramu, president of Karnataka State Backward Classes Awareness Forum.
Addressing a media conference, in Mysuru, on Monday, Shivaramu said, lakhs of supporters of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, from seven districts of Mysuru region, along with leaders and members of AHINDA organisations will participate in the convention, to convey the message of ‘AHINDA pride’ to the entire nation.
AHINDA is the acronym for Alpasankyatha (minorities), Hindulida (backward) and Dalit (Scheduled Castes), coined by Siddaramaiah in 2005, when he felt sidelined in the JD(S), as he was not made chief minister by former prime minister H D Deve Gowda. Hassan district has been a stronghold of Deve Gowda and his family members and the JD(S) over past couple of decades. Of late, as the influence of the Gowda family is diminishing in the old Mysuru region, especially on the Vokkaliga commuunity, the convention is deemed to be a show of strength on Gowda’s turf.
Shivaramu said, “A preparatory meeting will be held on November 29 in Mysuru, chaired by MLC Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah. This event is not being held as a followup of the byelection victory; it was planned two months ago, scheduled to be held in Mysuru. However, due to its central location, for the old Mysuru region, the gathering is being planned in Hassan. It is not against any community, but intended to strengthen AHINDA organisations”.
“In the byelection, the voters of three constituencies have given a fitting reply to the BJP and JD(S), which conspired to unseat Siddaramaiah, a strong voice for AHINDA communities, thereby attempting to weaken the AHINDA communities. The BJP and JD(S) held a padayatra from Bengaluru to Mysuru, under the guise of the MUDA scam. In the Channapatna byelection, the voters have responded to Deve Gowda's remarks on Siddaramaiah. This election proved that relying on one or two castes is not feasible in politics. The BJP and JD(S) should stop defaming Siddaramaiah and do ethical politics,” Shivaramu warned.
Congress leader J J Anand, and AHINDA leaders Mogannachar, Basavanna, Abhinandan and Lokesh Kumar Madapur were present.
Pejawar seer should stop commenting on Constitution
President of Karnataka State Backward Classes Awareness Forum K S Shivaramu warned Pejawar seer to stop commenting on the Constitution.
“Pejawar seer Vishwesha Theertha Swami of Udupi has spoken negatively on the Constitution drafted by B R Ambedkar. He should abandon his saffron robes, wear RSS shorts and come for a debate on politics and Constitution,” he challenged.
“If the seer continues to speak on the Constitution, protests will be held in front of his mutt, and black flags will be displayed wherever he goes,” Shivaramu warned.
