“We have successfully operated six special flights so far to evacuate stranded Indians from Libya. These special ferry flights to Tripoli have brought back around 2,200 passengers to New Delhi,” an Air India release said.
All the flights took off from and landed in Delhi.
An Air India spokesperson said three more flights had left for Tripoli and they would return late on Wednesday night or in the early hours of Thursday.
A B-747-400 and an Airbus A-330 have been deployed for the evacuation operation.
