Mangaluru: Andhra Pradesh government should open a goshala with 25,000 cows for Tirupati Tirumala Temple and produce ghee for the preparation of laddu prasada, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) declared at the dharmagraha meet oranised at Sri Venkataramana Temple, in Dongarakeri on Monday.

The meet was attended by seers and religious leaders. Following the allegations on use of adulterated ghee for preparation of laddu at Tirupati temple, VHP leaders and seers during the meeting said those guilty of adulterating ghee had hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus and should be severely punished. He urged Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu to hand over the case to CBI for in-depth probe.

Dharmagraha also emphasised that other temples in the country should start gaushala for indigenous cows to produce ghee. The meeting stated that temples are becoming desecrated because they are under the control of government and politicians. Therefore, all temples across the country should be handed over to Hindu community. The meeting demanded the establishment of a National and State Religious Councils for the purpose.

It was also noted that adulteration was found in the sesame oil used for lighting lamps, lamp oil, and coconut oil. Hence, the demand was made that only pure oil should be used in all temples. Odiyur mutt seer Gurudevananda Swamiji, Manila Sridhama Mohandas Paramahamsa Swamiji, Mangaluru Om Sri Mutt Vidyananda Saraswati Swamiji, Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, M B Puranik and others were present.
