Ancient inscription discovered

Ancient inscription found on the premises of Government Engineering College, Arsikere.

A Jain inscription was found during the works of construction at the Government Engineering College near Kellangere Gate on the outskirts of Arsikere town, Hassan district, on Monday.

Construction is under progress on the college premises. Earth movers were used to dig the place, when the historical inscription was discovered.

The officials of Archaeology and Museums department visited the place and inspected it. According to the officials, it is a Jain inscription. Another team of experts will visit the place and provide the right information, they said.
