Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, Federation President Nirmal Kumar said Angara was elected for four times from Sullia, a reserved constituency in Dakshina Kannada. Stating that no one elected from Sullia constituency has been given any cabinet berth so far since independence, he said Angara has been RSS member since 1982.
As a MLA, he has worked for the development of his constituency. His popularity made him win the election for four consecutive times. He has the experience of serving in various corporations as its head. No MLA hailing from Dakshina Kannada belonging to SC/ST was given cabinet berth in any of the state government so far. All the political parties have sidelined MLA representing Sullia constituency.
By giving a ministerial berth to Angara, the state government will be carrying out social justice to the people belonging to SC/ST. Dakshina Kannada Mogera Sangha Presidwent Krishnappa Derebail said “there are about 5 lakh persons belonging to SC/ST in Dakshina Kannada.
We need a minister to tell our woes.” In fact, there are over 25,000 people belonging to Mogaveera community who have availed false caste certificate in the name of Mogera community and have availed reservation in employment and education, which should be protested.
