Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Wednesday that the celebration of Tipu Sultan Jayanti would be banned if the BJP came to power in the state.
The UP chief minister said stringent steps would be taken against Jihadi forces and emphasis would be on ensuring the security of the state.
He was addressing an election rally in the city. Adityanath said the Congress government in the state had failed to undertake desilting work in the Tungabhadra dam, which would have helped a large number of farmers with a higher flow of water from the reservoir.
Instead, the government was hand-in-glove with the sand mafia, Adityanath said. He demanded that the government should celebrate the Jayantis of Krishnadevaraya, Hanuman and Shivaji.
