The two-day nationwide bandh resulted in a revenue loss to the tune of Rs 7.82 crore to the KSRTC.
As many as 17 buses, including nine on Wednesday, were damaged by vandals, resulting in a loss of Rs 2.32 lakh. The revenue loss due to cancellation of schedules was estimated at Rs 2.42 crore. The loss also included an amount of Rs 3.51 lakh, refunded to 554 passengers who had booked their tickets online.
On Tuesday, due to the cancellation of bus schedules (18.21 lakh km), KSRTC had suffered a revenue loss to the tune of Rs. 5.40 crore.
KSRTC had operated 46.6% of its total schedules on Tuesday and 91.7% of its schedules (5,168 of the total 5,672) on Wednesday.
