Bandh-like atmosphere in Madikeri

There was a bandh-like atmosphere in Madikeri on Saturday.

Security was strengthened for the visit of President Ram Nath Kovind and Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat in Madikeri on Saturday.

All the shops had remained closed on the roads where the convoy of vehicles of the President and the Chief of Defence Staff passed.

No one was allowed to come out of the houses situated beside the roads. A holiday was declared for schools and colleges.

There was a bandh-like atmosphere in the town with hardly a few people on the road. The movement of vehicles too was minimal.
