Two pedestrians were killed by speeding vehicles in separate accidents in the City.
A 52-year-old man was mowed down by a car on Outer Ring Road in Koramangala.
The deceased is Mohan Rao Patil, a resident of HSR Layout and an employee of a private company. On Thursday night, while he was crossing the road, a speeding cab coming from Ejipura knocked him down and sped away. Passersby rushed him to a nearby hospital. But the doctors declared him brought dead.
A few of the passersby had noted down the vehicle number. Based on that, the police arrested the driver Girish, a native of Mandya.
A BMTC knocked down an unidentified woman near Mysuru Road. Around 9.40 pm on Thursday, when the woman was walking on the road, a speeding BMTC bus (route number 331J/1 - KR Market to Hejjala railway station) ran over the woman, killing her on the spot
The public alerted the police, who seized the bus and arrested driver Chikke Gowda. The police are trying to ascertain the identity of the deceased.
