Following the success of 'Sparsh Vachana' held last year by the Sparsh Foundation founded by Sparsh Hospitals Chairman Dr Sharan Patil, it was decided to undertake a similar initiative this year.

Patil told reporters here that a screening camp to identify underprivileged children will be held for three days from Oct four at hospital premises in Narayana health City.

The chosen would undergo surgery from November one to 14 with 30 surgeons from India and across the globe attending the camp, he said.

The children should be below the age of sixteen years
"It is purely meant for the disadvantaged", he said.

The foundation last month performed 100 hip replacement surgeries for teachers as part of its "Guru Namana" program.Last year it raised Rs 1.40 crore donations for its maiden Sparsh Vachana project, but the expenditure exceeded by about Rs eight lakhs.

This year it hopes to garner support from corporates like MindTree, Mico Bosch, which helped last year and also from other donors including film stars.
