Namma Metro on Thursday received its 50th train from BEML, a major manufacturer of Metro cars in the country.
With this, the requirement for trains for the entire phase I has been met. “We will be using this train for operational trials on Green Line,” Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) managing director P S Kharola said.
At a function held at the Bangalore Complex, Kharola rolled out the 50th Metro train in the presence of N M Dhoke, Director (Rolling Stock), senior executives of BMRCL and P Dwarakanath, CMD and Director of BEML. Executives and employees of BEML were also present. With this rollout, BEML fulfilled the prestigious BMRCL 2 RS-DM contract and has forayed into the manufacture and supply of hi-tech Metro cars.
BEML has so far supplied more than 700 Metro cars to Delhi Metro, Bangalore Metro and Jaipur Metro.
