In the morning, flight IC 106 from Bangalore to Mumbai had Capt Sangeetha Bangar in command. While Capt Pallavi was the co-pilot and the cabin crew were Nitisha, Meherewanji, Susheela and Keren.
The evening flight IC 903 from Bangalore to Delhi was piloted by Capt Priya, with Capt Niranjana as the co-pilot. The cabin crew were Easwari, Kaplana, Lipika and Sonia.
Both the flights were operated by the latest fly by wire Airbus A 319 aircraft which was inducted into the AI fleet recently.
History created
Across its wide network, Air India operated a record of 22 all-woman crew flights.
History was also created by the national carrier when a little past midnight, the first all-woman crew ultra long-haul B777-200LR non-stop flight from Mumbai to New York was flagged off by Secretary for Civil Aviation, Madhavan Nambiar at the Mumbai International Airport.
Flight AI 141 was the first of the 22 all-woman crew flights operated by Air India across its domestic and international network to mark International Women’s Day, said a release issued by Air India here.
