Alliance Francaise de Bangalore commences Kannada classes

“Learning Kannada is like opening a window to the culture of Karnataka” said Chiranjeev Singh, former Additional Chief Secretary, of Karnataka, while speaking after inaugurating the first session of Kannada classes at the institute here on Tuesday.

Multi-level course

Singh said, “The beginners’ course in Kannada would lead to other levels where the student would not just stop at conversing, but also start appreciating poetry and other forms of literature in  offered by this classical language.”
Speaking on the occasion, Lucas Malcor, the course director said, “Though the Alliance Francaise de Bangalore has many Kannada speakers among its teachers and experts trained by the French Embassy in teaching French as a foreign language, the institute decided to team up with experts in the field, like Kannada Prasara Parishat in teaching Kannada to foster new avenues of dialogue.”
Partnered with Kannada Prasara Parishat, Alliance Francaise de Bangalore has begun the Kannada course and the institution aims to help French nationals, foreigners and non-Kannada speakers make most of their time in Bangalore by connecting culturally and linguistically with the City.

Limited seats

The Kannada language class is restricted to 15 students with an objective of learner centered approach.
