As a response to Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code that criminalises homosexuality in India, a dance performance titled, ‘Queen-Size’ — that takes the form of a detailed study of the intimacy between two men — will take place at Khoj Studios on September 4.
Played out on a charpoy, the duet examines the nuts and bolts – carnal, mechanical and emotional – of a close encounter between two male bodies. The performance will pose questions around spectatorship, privacy and dissent.
The performance will travel to multiple spaces across different cities and towns from August 2016 to March 2017. The 30-minute performance can be viewed at different time slots beginning 7.15 pm.
