Many public service providers such as the telecom and electricity companies and the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) are digging roads to lay underground cables and sanitary lines. Besides corporates, the roads are also dug up by individuals for water, sanitary and electricity connections at home and shops.
People who want to dig the road, should have to seek road-cutting permission at any of the BBMP’s zonal offices, instead of running around the duct cell officials. However, these zonal-level engineers will not be carrying out the repair work all alone. There is a long list of around 1,900 contractors who would be assigned the job. The service provider can either contact the junior-level engineers or can contact the contractors who will be in charge of repairing the roads.
The BBMP is soon going to upload the list of contractors in the website so that people can directly contact them.
