Prime Minister Narendra Modi flags off three Vande Bharat trains between Meerut and Lucknow, Madurai and Bengaluru, and Chennai and Nagercoil, via video conferencing.

Bengaluru: The Bengaluru-Madurai Vande Bharat Express will start on September 2, the South Western Railway (SWR) said.

Train number 20671 will depart from Madurai at 5.15 am and reach Bengaluru Cantonment at 1 pm. In the return direction, train number 20672 will depart from Bengaluru Cantonment at 1.30 pm to reach Madurai at 9.45 pm. 

The trains will stop KR Puram, Salem, Namakkal, Karur, Thiruchirapalli and Dindigul in both directions. 

The chair car fare from Madurai to Bengaluru will be Rs 1,575, while the executive class fare will be Rs 2,865. The Bengaluru-Madurai fare will be Rs 1740 (chair car) and Rs 3,060 (executive class). 

The train was flagged off on Saturday.
