The Managing Director of the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation Syed Pasha is quite clear about it.

When he was asked what he would do if products are sold at higher price than the MRP, his instant reply was "Such things should not be encouraged and action should be initiated."

But, over the last five days  the BMTC  ran special bus services to the International Aero Show at Yelahanka and charged double the regular fare, with the sole objective to book profit.

The special buses were no different in terms of looks or comfort. People were packed  like sardines in the buses. The only speciality the bus had the 'special' status given to a very ordinary bus.

On a normal day, the journey from Majestic to Yelahanka  IAF station costs no more than Rs 12.  But over the last five days,  the BMTC charged Rs 22 per ticket. Passes were not allowed on the special buses.

Many commuters had bitter quarrels with the bus drivers and conductors. Jaya of Vijayanagar bought a bus pass for Rs 40. But when she boarded the Aero Show special bus, she was told that the pass was not allowed and she has to purchase a ticket for Rs 22.

Sources in BMTC told Deccan Herald that the number of buses on the route was reduced only to make profit out of the Aero Show.
