Bengaluru: Three well-known engineering colleges in the city received bomb threats via email on Friday, police sources said.

BMS Institute of Technology and Bangalore Institute of Technology, located in the southern part of the city, received threat emails at around 1 pm, Lokesh B Jagalasar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) south division, confirmed to DH.

Ramaiah Institute of Technology, near MSR Nagar in North Bengaluru, has also received a bomb threat. Sadashivanagar police have reached the location, and a search operation is on. Separate cases have been filed at Hanumantha Nagar, Kumaraswamy Layout, and Sadashivanagar police stations.

Bomb squads and anti-sabotage teams have been pressed into service, and a combing operation is underway in these colleges, according to the police sources.
