Celebration of language
It was time to celebrate language and literature at the Garden City College recently with ENGCONF 2012.
Conducted over two days by the department of languages, the conference was titled ‘Recent Trends in Literature: A Global Perspective’.
Students from 17 states and 66 cities came together in a celebration of languages and talked about contemporary literature, its various themes and presented papers on the subjects.
The gathering meant for academicians, researchers and students in the field gave them a platform to discuss trends and voice their own ideas. Besides the chief guests, a host of dignitaries were present at the conference along with a large bunch of students.
Stimulating discussions were held and many came out of the conference informed. While language papers and discussions were the key, cultural celebrations weren’t left too far behind. The two-day event concluded with a cultural programme and a dinner spread. All present were fulfilled and invigorated.
