Bengaluru: The police have arrested a car driver and his friend for allegedly breaking into his former employer’s home and stealing valuables worth Rs 1.2 crore.

The VV Puram police identified the suspects as Keshav Patil and Nitin Uttam Khale, both aged 32. Gold and diamonds valued at Rs 1.2 crore were recovered from the suspects, who were arrested in Satara, Rajasthan.

According to investigators, Patil had worked as a car driver for the complainant for eight years before recently switching jobs. Upon learning that the complainant would be traveling to Kerala on September 9, he conspired with his friend to break into the house.

On the night of September 9, the suspects reportedly cut the cellar grills, broke the main door lock, and entered the residence. They then hid the stolen valuables at their sisters' homes, one in Jakkuru, North Bengaluru, and another in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.

The suspects are currently in judicial custody.
