The Department of English of CMR IMS recently conducted the English Day — ‘Eclat 2017’. The theme for ‘Eclat 2017’ was ‘The exuberance and magic of literature’.
The day witnessed performances by students from all streams. They showcased their talents in different areas like acting, singing, dancing and compering with enthusiasm. The performances were divided based on different literary genres – magic, romance, horror and comedy along with art and music.
The students brought romance to life by performing a spoof of Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and honoured Bob Dylan for his Nobel achievement. Other genres were enacted on stage through the innovative performances of the students. The event also witnessed the staging of a play by the theatre group led by Akshay. The auditorium was decorated in accordance with the theme of the day.
The event was witnessed by the Principal Prof. Suja Bennet, Vice Principal Dr.Anandappa, Dean Management and Commerce Prof. Mukherjee and faculty of various departments and hundreds of students.
