K C Ramamurthy, who opted for voluntary retirement when he was Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic & Security), has been booked under Sections 420, 468, 471 (read with 34) of the CrPC for allegedly fabricating documents to grab land worth around Rs 300 crore. Interestingly, the person who lodged the complaint against Ramamurthy, Joseph Chacko (50), is also allegedly involved in several cheating cases, said the police.

Reacting sharply to the complaint and allegations, Ramamurthy told Deccan Herald: “The allegations against me are baseless, false, misleading, bogus and mischievous. I don’t know who this Chacko is. I am in no way connected with Chacko. I am not party to any of his allegations and claims. Neither have I purchased any land nor running any real estate business firm as has been claimed by Chacko. I can only say that it is a foolish act.”

In the complaint, Chacko alleged that a conspiracy was hatched to grab the land. Ramamurthy and his relatives K S Shankar Reddy, K V Rajagopal Reddy and K S Balasundar Reddy and two others John Peter and B C Lakkappa were allegedly involved in the conspiracy.

According to the complainant, D Manual owned one acre 17 gunta land worth Rs 14.25 lakh in survey number 4/7 at Bilishivale village in Bangalore City. Though Manual did not sell the property, the accused are alleged to have created fake General Power of Attorney with fake signature of D Manual stating he sold the land to John Peter. Later, they created records to show that Peter sold the land to Lakkappa. The incident took place on February 2, 2007, Chacko added in the complaint.

Chacko told Deccan Herald that he purchased around 78 acres of land Doddagubbi and Bilishivale areas in 1994. He sold a part of it to a few NRIs and retained the remaining land with him. Much of the land was lying vacant while some buildings had come up in the remaining land.
