The first thing that strikes a customer as they enter the restobar ‘Loveshack’ is that the name is a misnomer. It is far from being a shack or a shanty dwelling.
Overlooking the busy, crowded street in Domlur, ‘Loveshack’ is one of the well-known, spacious restaurants in the city. Known for their popular karaoke nights and a tranquil ambience, the place is perfect for an relaxed evening after a hectic day. The rooftop restaurant, with its modern decor, gives one a warm and pleasant feel. The friendly staff and quick service liven up the atmosphere. The menu is easy on the eye. One isn’t spoilt for choice which is a great thing at a pub.
The mocktails are a must try here. ‘Berry Punch’, the right concoction of cranberry, blueberry and strawberry juice, makes for a refreshing and stimulating start for the long night ahead. One could try the quirky drinks like ‘After Flow’ or ‘Paradise Sunset’ or just keep it simple by going for a flavoured lemonade. The starters win in terms of flavour.
The ‘Corn and cheese balls with tomato chutney’ can be savoured till the end, with a generous dose of cheese in them. The ‘Jalapeno and cheese croquette’, with its crunchy and crisp texture, is another hit with customers. The ‘Schezwan crispy veg’, sauteed with tickling Schezwan sauce, leaves a tangy, Oriental taste. For health freaks, the ‘Shack style salad’, a visually appealing preparation of assorted fruits and vegetables like tomato, cucumber, watermelon and orange, is recommended.
Chef Altaf Patel says, “The menu is altogether a new one and was launched a month back. It comprises a mix of European and Indian cuisines. Some of the signature dishes at ‘Loveshack’ have been kept as it is. We also took feedback from our customers to see what they like and designed the menu accordingly. I suggest the ‘Shack style couscous’, a fusion dish, in the main course for vegetarians. The ‘Paneer tikka’ brings in the Indian element to the dish.” Non-vegetarians also have a choice of delicious dishes to choose from.
There’s the ‘Shack style chicken’, a fusion of chicken and icy potatoes; ‘Pandi curry’, the famous pork curry from Coorg, and the ‘Goan fish curry’ to dig in to.
As no good meal is over without the dessert, one can either go for the sweet and sinful ‘Blueberry cheesecake’ or the ‘White chocolate passion fruit creme brulee’. Quick and fast, the place wins in terms of both food and hospitality. ‘Loveshack’ is located at Amarjyoti HBBCS Layout, Koramangala Intermediate Ring Road, Domlur.
