The girls know how to dress well for the college. Though the fashion trends keep changing, these students have found comfort factor in kurtas and leggings.
Shalini, a first year BSc student says that kurtas with leggings offer a wide range of options when it comes to fashion.
“We don’t have any particular dress code in our institution. We are free to wear anything as long as it is decent.
We keep experimenting with different kinds of kurtas.
Earlier, we used to wear kurtas with jeans, now leggings are in. Compared to jeans, leggings provide much more comfort as well as flexibility,” she includes.
Ranjitha, another student, who was sporting green kurta and black leggings says, “Kurta is a popular apparel among college-goers as it can be worn both as a casual wear and a formal dress. Leggings come in different colours. The scope for mixing and matching leggings with kurtas is more.”
Sowmyashree, another student adds, “Leggings are available at reasonable prices and not at all costly when compared to jeans. These days they are a must have in any girl’s wardrobe.”
Apart from this, the students also like to make a style statement with fancy bags. The spacious leather bags are in vogue now on campus. Swaroopa says that these bags are easy to handle.
“These bags are spacious enough to carry the notebooks. As they are reasonably priced, we buy a couple of bags in different colours and match them with our dresses accordingly,” she says.
So from which place do these girls buy their stuff? “Gandhi Bazaar,” they answer in single voice.
“As our college is near Gandhi Bazaar, we go there to buy most of our stuff. We get wonderful kurtas just for Rs 100,” exclaims Vidya.
Shalini adds, “Even for accessories, bags and other stuff, our favourite destination is Gandhi Bazaar. Sometimes we shop at Jayanagar 4th block also.”
