Saras Communications and Bangalore University presented Sur Sandhya, a concert where famous singers like M D Pallavi, Vijay Prakash, Chandrika Gururaj lent their voice for songs composed by yesteryear musical heroes Madan Mohan and Salil Chaudhary.

The evening kick started with Chandrika Gururaj performing Jaago Mohan Pyare. After which many songs like Naino Me Bhadra Chaye, Ek Haseen Sham Ko, Jhare Ud Jhare Panchi and many more soulful and fast songs were sung. When M D Pallavi sang Aapki Nazro Ne Samjha, everyone’s eyes brightened up and they started clapping to the tune of the song.

The entire auditorium was overflowing with music-lovers. Noted singer Vijay Prakash brought life to each song he sang as he danced around and involved the audience along with him. Other singers like Apoorva, Aparupa and Deepak also lent their voices for many other compositions by Madan Mohan and Salil Chaudhary. Many unreleased songs composed by these famous composers were also sung.

The audience enjoyed these songs thoroughly as they had never heard them before and through these songs, it was proven that Madan Mohan and Salil Chaudhary are still alive in the hearts of people.

Lalitha, a homemaker, who was present at the event said, “My younger days were reignited when I listened to these songs. I simply love the compositions by this duo. They make me silent and take me back to my old days. I feel very nostalgic, and all these singers on stage today have done a great job. They have sung very well and have done justice to these lovely compositions.”

Na Jiyo Na was sung in Bengali and Hindi by young singer Aparupa Gupta. Dressed in traditional Bengali sari, she gave life to this soulful composition.”  “With their rare and distinct voices, the singers made the experience a memorable one for the audience. Said Madhu, a homemaker, “It was a great experience. I loved each and every song which was sung this evening. Both my husband and I enjoyed a lot today.”
