Bengaluru Development Minister G Parameshwara said that the Doddanekundi flyover construction work would be completed by September 15.
After inspecting the construction work on Saturday, Parameshwara, who is also the deputy chief minister, said the levelling of the road and removal of debris would be done in the next seven days, completion of roads and drainage work by August 15 and construction of paver footpath on both sides of the flyover by September 15.
He agreed to visit the location if the residents raise a concern about the pace of the project.
The flyover was recently opened to the public to ease the traffic flow at the junction located in the area. But the commuters, who travelled between Marathalli and Mahadevapura, used to take the service road which is in poor condition due to ongoing work.
Owing to this, the residents, who made the construction of Doddanekundi flyover a reality, have been giving an update of the spot situation to the BDA (Bangalore Development Authority).
“We have been in constant touch with the BDA officials over
WhatsApp and other social media ever since the construction of the flyover took place. We are glad that they are paying heed to our concerns,” said Menaka S, one of the residents in the vicinity to the flyover.
Speaking to DH, BDA Commissioner, Rakesh Singh said: “The minister inspected the spot and issued a few directions. We will try our best to complete the work latest by September 15.”
