Namma Metro clocked its highest daily ridership of 4.49 lakh on Wednesday, thanks to the Dasara holiday rush which also meant a long weekend for many.
Holidays bring more people to the metro as many seek to go out of the city.
The introduction of the six-car metro has also helped ridership cross 4 lakh barrier.
The second six-car train introduced last month has taken it further to Rs 4.5 lakh on Wednesday. The Purple Line (Byappanahalli-Mysore Road) recorded more than 2.43 lakh while the Green Line ridership reached 2.05 lakh.
The previous highest ridership of 4.36 lakh was recorded on September 9.
