About five acres of forest land in Turahalli was destroyed in a fire on Tuesday.
The fire began around 5 pm. Forest officials rushed to the spot after receiving an alert from area residents and doused the flames,” said Manjunath Chand, a resident.
He said it was not the first time that the fire incident has occurred.
“A fire incident had occurred 15 days ago. Due to lack of adequate security, fire incidents of recurring,” he said.
Forest officials could not be reached for a comment.
