They might have known little that their ‘idol’ would get his 47th ODI century on the day, helping India put on a grand total of 338, but they definitely knew that he is capable of this on any given day.

His slow start notwithstanding, Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar stood up to the big occasion, doing what he does best –– living up to the expectations of his fans like the six from Chennai have of him even as India’s bowling let the team down managing only a tie.

Guruprasad, Jagan, Dinesh, Nithin, Prakash and Murali, all software engineers in
Chennai, came to Bangalore only to see their ‘God’ perform the way he did. And boy, they were not disappointed one bit.

Speaking to Deccan Herald after the match, an overwhelmed Guruprasad said:
“There is no game like cricket and there is no cricketer like Sachin.”
And guess who else endorses his view. Kavya Kaushik, who, for the first time in her life sat in the stadium to watch a cricket match. As she got out of the electrifying Chinnaswamy stadium, she was blown away by the Little Master. By the sheer display of his batting finesse.

“Strauss was good. But nothing like Sachin,” she exclaimed.

Few could believe their luck that the little master scored Century No. 47 at probably his last World Cup.

Kavya Kaushik was one of them.

The 19-year old was glued to the happenings on the pitch and soaking in the bustling atmosphere that surrounded her. “It was awesome. Nothing can beat this sense of feeling while you are watching Sachin batting at his best,” Kavya said.

The first year med student in a City college was treated to the match, thanks to ticket she got, courtesy her grand father. For the teenager watching Tendulkar at his best was worth the time and money. So what struck her as the best moment of the game? “It was when Jonathan Trott got out with England on 111. An auspicious moment for India, who till then were unable to break the deadlock,” she said.

So, will she come back for another game? “Nothing can be compared to watching it live. If I manage to get a ticket, I will be here for the next game too,” Kavya said breathlessly.
