Before launching the march, Deve Gowda visited the grave of Siddalinga Prabhu where he paid his respects to the youth who was allegedly murdered. He was actively involved in the protest against the Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC).
“We are not opposed to the construction of the road by NICE, but we oppose unnecessary acquisition of land in the name of construction of the road. NICE chief Ashok Kheny and his men are involved in the murder of Siddalinga Prabhu,” Gowda alleged.
He said he could not expect justice from police investigation and hence the State government should order a CBI probe. Deve Gowda walked some distance and arrived in a four-wheeler to Kengeri. The protesters submitted a memorandum to the chief minister demanding a CBI probe into alleged murder.
