The high court came down heavily on the state government for delays in finalising the BBMP outdoor signage and public messaging bylaws 2018.
A division bench headed by Acting Chief Justice L Narayana Swamy, hearing a PIL seeking directions to remove flexes and hoardings in the city, observed that the government cannot repeatedly ask for time and said it cannot entertain such an attitude.
The advocate general said the final draft of the advertising bylaws is with the Department of Parliamentary Affairs, which will finalise the draft in the next three days.
The court further observed that the draft must be finalised by the next date of hearing, failing which it would summon the officers for appearance. It adjourned the hearing to March 15.
