Holiday for BBMP schools, colleges

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike has declared a holiday for schools and colleges run by the civic body.

All BBMP offices, including regional offices and ward offices, will also remain closed on Friday as a mark of respect to deputy mayor Ramila Umashankar who passed in the early hours of Friday.

Ramila, a JD(S) leader from the Kaveripura ward, was elected as the deputy mayor of the powerful local body on September 28.
