The traffic police will write to the railways to check the feasibility of integrating the BMTC bus service with the KSR Bengaluru railway station.
A team of experts will visit the city railway station and the Majestic bus stand to look at ways to ease traffic and solve parking problems. The team will also compare the KSR Bengaluru railway station with train terminuses in Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune and Delhi. Their brief is to plan the integration of different modes of transport, prepare a report and submit it to the government for consideration, said P Harishekaran, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic).
The KSR Bengaluru railway station is connected with the Majestic bus station by just one subway and that too is blocked on either side by hawkers.
Crackdown on drag racing, wheelies
Each traffic police division in the city will now have an exclusive squad to check drag racing, wheelies, etc. The squad will be headed by an assistant sub-inspector of police, two head constables and constables.
