Police raided the house and offices of Kannada film producer Shankar Gowda on Monday night as part of an investigation into his alleged links with drug peddlers.
The search operation was carried out by a joint team of KG Halli and Govindapura police on the basis of a search warrant obtained from a court.
According to Govindapura police, they searched Gowda’s house and offices located in a four-storey building in the upmarket Dollars Colony, North Bengaluru. While police acknowledged that they didn’t find any banned substance, they have nonetheless confiscated Gowda’s mobile phone and a few other valuables.
The raid comes days after police searched the house of Bigg Boss Kannada contestant Mastan Chandra and detained him over his purported links with African drug dealers. If police sources are to be believed, an investigation had revealed Gowda’s links with the drug dealers.
Gowda has been summoned to the Govindapura police station at 9 am on Tuesday.
