Did you know that you wanted to become a dancer when you were a kid?

I wasn’t too sure. Initially, I wanted to become a choreographer, but then I realised that I didn’t want to do that full time. I wanted to pursue something in media but wasn’t sure what exactly.

What made you sure of pursuing dance?

While I was in college, I participated in many fests across the country. I was called at a dance competition to audition for ‘Dil Dosti Dance’. My father always told me to give my all for anything I do. And eventually, I started enjoying the whole process on
the show.

What has dance taught you about yourself and life?

Confidence is something dance helped me discover about myself. As for the life lesson, it is discipline; we train for at least three hours daily, and it can go up to twelve hours if there’s an event.

What’s the one common trait that you see among successful people who are well established in their field?

I’ll say passion; even if they’re not on top of their game, it is the passion that drives them.

On what do you like to spend your time apart from dancing?

I play. I love to play sports like badminton, cricket and if there’s time football.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

To be calmer and learn techniques of more classical forms of dance like ballet.

What do you like about Bengaluru?

Bengaluru is a lovely city filled with positive vibes. The weather is the first thing I love about the city; it is chilly and quite pleasant which put me into an absolute vacation mode. I also like the city’s university and college campuses. The people are also very approachable and great to interact with.

What advice would you give to dance aspirants?

Keep learning and enjoy dancing. It also helps to stay fit.
