The college invited the girls with cakes, ice-creams, samosas and made them feel warm and comfortable in their second home.
Shilpa R says, “It feels good to be part of a college and that too, a girls’ college. I am looking forward to having lots of fun here. I have met my seniors and found them very sweet. The teachers, whom we met so far, have been very nice to us and have treated us like responsible students. Unlike school, here, we are not treated like children and I like that the best.”
Various games were conducted by the teachers and students for the freshers in their respective classes. Most students found it very helpful and made them feel a little relaxed.
Shruthi G S says, “The seniors and teachers had prepared chits in which they had written something. Initially, I thought we would get ragged but then I found out that it was a game and we ended up winning many prizes on the first day itself. That made most of us smile. In the process, we made new friends,” she says.
Most students were anxious about going to college but the college managed to comfort all these girls.
Namratha S Yadav, says, “I was quite scared while I was leaving home for college and I told my mother about it. After I came to the class, I liked the environment when I met other girls. I made many new friends too. Now, I am looking forward to coming to college every day.”
The students went around the campus and had a look at all the departments.They made themselves familiar with the college environment and slowly settled down. Navyashree G L says, “I made some friends today and we all had a look around the college. We became familiar with the college surroundings and this helped me in making friends from other departments as well. It was fun.”
