Namma Metro will operate till 1.30 am on January 1 to cater to the new year crowd. The last trains in all four directions will leave Kempegowda Metro Station at 2 am.

Commuters who do not have metro smartcard have to purchase paper tickets for Rs 50 regardless of the distance travelled. The tokens will not be issued during the extended time. Those travelling with smartcard will pay the regular fare.

Officials are hoping to complete the repair work on a metro pillar near Indiranagar station on December 30. Train services between MG Road and Indiranagar stations will be shut from 8pm on December 28 to 5 am on December 31.
