Metro tweaks timings to increase train frequency

From October 3, the frequency of Namma Metro trains between Byappanahalli and Mysore Road (Purple Line) will go up during peak hours as BMRCL has made small changes in its timetable.

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) made changes to its timetable on Wednesday, tweaking timings for the benefit of rush hour passengers on both lines.

On the Purple Line, the seven-minute waiting time in the evening has been reduced by 2 minutes with trains running every 5 minutes during 6.25 pm - 7 pm and 7 pm - 7.54 pm. Trains will run five-minute frequency from 6.25 pm to 7 pm.

On weekdays, the frequency of trains between 10.52 and 11.45 am has been brought down from 10minutes to eight minutes. In the evening the four-minute frequency time has been extended till 7.42 pm from 7 pm.

Metro authorities have also doubled the short-loop service between Kempegowda and Byappanahalli stations from the existing two to four trains in the morning hours. Short loop trains from Kempegowda station will leave at 8.23 am, 9 am, 9.38 am and 10.14 am. From Byappanahalli the trains will leave at 8.50 am, 9.39 am, 10.02 am and 10.40 am.

Green Line

There are minor changes for trains between Nagasandra and Yelachenahalli. The frequency of trains has been increased to 7 minutes from the earlier 8 minutes during 10.07 am - 10.55 am. The six-minute frequency time has been extended by 30 minutes, from 7 pm to 7.30 pm.
