The directive, issued on Monday, stated: "It has come to our attention that photographs, videos and reels of some police officials are being posted on social media, unrelated to their official duties. This is against the rules. Therefore, all officers and staff are directed not to upload videos, photos or reels on social media in uniform, unless related to their official work."

Addressing reporters on Tuesday, Dayananda emphasised that such actions are not allowed under department regulations.

"The uniform holds respect and significance in society," the commissioner said. "We will take appropriate measures regarding the posts made in the past."
