Over 200 cab drivers attended the meeting on Thursday, chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) VJ Sajeeth of the northeast division. The meeting was prompted by a recent case involving a driver who allegedly impersonated an Ola cabbie and attempted to deceive a woman passenger.

A senior police official informed DH that complaints against cab drivers on this route have been on the rise. Reported issues include demanding excess fares after dropping passengers, stopping mid-journey to refuel, asking for money from customers, avoiding toll plazas by taking alternate routes despite fares covering toll costs, and instances of misconduct with women passengers.

DCP Sajeeth issued a firm warning, instructing cab drivers to adhere to set protocols and rules or face criminal charges.
