The ongoing protests at the Terra Firma landfill site near Doddaballapur over the excess dumping of the City’s waste much beyond the permissible level have added to garbage woes here.

With heaps of waste lying uncleared, many areas have started feeling the heat of the protest. Not only the slums, but prominent places were also affected.

Church Street, MG Road, Residency Road, Avenue Road, Chikpet, Mamoolpet, Sultanpet, Banashankari, Sarakki, JP Nagar, Rajajinagar, Gottigere, Shivajinagar, Frazer Town,
Kurubarahalli and areas around Majestic are the worst affected. While BBMP Administrator T M Vijay Bhaskar camped near Terra Firma landfill to pacify protestors, Commissioner G Kumar Naik and his subordinates held the fort in Bengaluru to ensure proper garbage disposal.
The effort, however, did not yield much results.
